DIY Bleach Stain Shirt!
One of my first projects on this blog was a Hello Kitty Bleach Shirt that I used vinyl to create the design. I love that shirt, and still have it. I wanted to make some more fun shirts, but instead of using vinyl, I opted to use freezer paper to make the design. These DIY Bleach Stain shirt are super easy to make, and fun to make.
I opted to make a Boba Fett inspired shirt using the Mandalorian symbol. But, you can make any design you want! I love using freezer paper for crafts because it is easily available, and cheap!
For this project all you need is freezer paper and a spray bottle full of bleach. Alternatively, you can use freezer paper on a white shirt and use fabric dye, like I did in my DIY Galaxy Unicorn shirt.

This is also a great way to renew old shirts! I have a few shirts that have bleach stains, so I will be pulling them out of the bottom of my dresser to revamp them!

DIY BLEACH STAIN SHIRT
DIY Bleach Stain Shirt
Materials
- Dark colored cotton shirt (black, brown and blue work best)
- Vinyl Decal of choice
- Spray bottle filled with bleach
- Cardboard or foam board
Tools
- Hair dryer (optional)
Instructions
- Place your cardboard or foam board inside the shirt to prevent the bleach from bleeding onto the back of the shirt.
- Smooth out any wrinkles and place your decal where you would like.
- Using a straight edge, remove any excess bubbles.
- When spraying, I like to start in the center of the image and make sure that it is completely saturated with bleach first, then work my way out to give it a splatter look.
- Once sprayed, you have two options. You can either wait for it to dry on its own, or you can use a hair dryer set to low to speed up the process. (I am impatient so I used a hair dryer.)
- Once completely dry, repeat the process of spraying it down with bleach again and letting it dry.
- Repeat this process until you reach the desired lightness of shirt.
- Allow to dry completely.
- Rinse under cool water to remove excess bleach.
- Wash separately.
