DIY Giant Wall Art!
I have finally finished the bulk of our Home Renovation and I can move on to the fun part….DECORATING! I decided that I am going to go one room at a time and do any finishing work (like touching up paint) and decorate. I have been working on my kitchen first, since it is the most used room in the house. I have already built a new kitchen table and a long side table, and decided that I needed some wall art…BAD! The problem is that they are large walls and large walls require large art, which is expensive! So I opted to make my own DIY Giant Wall Art. The total cost for the prints and frames was around $20, which is amazing!
Because the prints were so cheap (under $4 each) I can change them out as my mode changes! I was inspired by these prints, but they were a little to plain and small for what I needed. So, I went to making my own. I found the Silhouettes that I needed from Vector Stock and added my own touch to them using Photoshop (You can use PicMonkey to create your own as well), and I absolutely LOVE THEM!
Here is how I made my prints:
Now, after I decided on the size I needed and had them printed the problem was the cost of frames. Cheap plastic poster frames cost around $20 each, which is crazy, and since I needed a few of them I opted to make my own!
I used my handy dandy Kreg Jig again for this project, but if you do not have one, you can always use brackets or screw the frames together from the edges.
Check out how I pulled it all together in the video:
