DIY Lighted Reading Nook!
After our complete home renovation last year, the kids moved rooms. The Boy moved into The Girls old room which is a little smaller than his old room. Since the room was smaller, we opted to get him a new loft style bed to help save floor space so he had plenty of room to play. The only problem with the loft bed is that under it was extremely dark! While there was plenty of space, it was not completely usable because even with the lights on in the middle of the day it was just too dark.
When I was approached to come up with a fun way to use Enbrighten Café Lights by Jasco, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them!
As you can see from the photo above, the space was boring. There is an area under the bed where there is a bump out that holds our air intake for the AC unit, so I was stuck working around it. I thought it would make the perfect shelf to hold some of The Boys favorite books.
Even with just lights installed, it is already a huge improvement to the area!
I love that these lights are LED, so they are very low heat, which means that the space will not get hot while the lights are on. And, because they are LED they are energy efficient as well! These lights are heavy duty and can be used both indoors as well as outdoor, which means I might have to grab some more to spruce up my patio area!
I absolutely LOVE how this area turned out, and The Boy is so excited to snuggle up in his chair and read! Check out the quick timelapse video of how easy it to make this DIY Lighted Reading Nook!
