DIY Shower Soothers! Congestion Relief!
The cold weather has finally hit us here in NC! It was 75 degrees this past weekend, and now we are expecting snow. Cold weather always means one thing in my house….Colds! It never fails, one of the children bring home the icky, yucky germs that then infest the entire house! And of course, what comes with a cold? The horrible congestion! Every year I make a big batch of shower soothers for this reason. I can just pop one in the shower with me in the morning and the essential oils and steam help to clear up the congestion enough that I can at least function as a person during the day.
These DIY Shower soothers are great for congestion, but add any essential oil to them for a great pick me up in the morning. I like to use Sweet Orange in some for that burst of citrus to give me a wake up or you can use Lavender to help relax you before bed.
What you will need:
1 Part Citric Acid
2 Parts Baking Soda
Witch Hazel in a spray bottle
A mold (I prefer Silicon molds)
5-6 drops of Eucalyptus oil
5-6 drops Peppermint oil
5-6 drops Tea Tree Oil
Optional: Food coloring or Soap colorant
