Homemade Goo Gone!
I have a small addiction. I just can not seem to bring myself to throw things away that I think could be repurposed. Especially anything glass because they can be transformed into some amazing home decor items! If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I love my Starbucks, and I think it is probably because I love the glass containers they come in. But, even after peeling the labels off and washing them, they always still had a tacky residue on them. Do you know how easy it is to remove it though? Pretty stinkin’ easy! I love homemade Goo Gone because I can make it in a large or small batch!
To make Homemade Goo Gone all you need is two simple ingredients: Baking Soda and Coconut Oil!
Take 1 part Coconut Oil and combine it with 2 parts Baking Soda to get rid of any goo that may be driving you nuts! Take a clean lint free cloth or paper towel and apply it to the sticky area.
With a little elbow grease, rub in the Goo Gone and than just rinse clean! Super simple to do! This stuff even removes the expiration stamp right off too!
Now I have some nice clean and sticky free glass containers to transform into something amazing! YAY!

Thanks, Jamie. I really needed to Goo Gone recipe. I don’t drink Starbucks, but our Grandson drinks Yahoo in the bottles. I’m saving them because they have a larger opening and spearmint mints go in them perfectly. Come Christmas, I’m filling them as tiny gifts for our neighbors. I’ll mix PEPPERMINT and SPEARMINT mints [green/red–Christmas-y!]
Great tip – I’m pinning this!
I know a few places I can try this out! Thank you for sharing with the Clever Chicks Blog Hop! I hope you’ll join us again next week.

Jamie, I first want to thank you for your services in the Military. We as a country are blessed to have folks like you and all the others that work hard for hardly anything to save the butts of those that don’t give a damn except for hand outs. Now that I’m off my soap box.
I like your idea, have you ever tried to save it in another container? How long will it last if you have?
Thanks,
Kelli
I have saved in small tupperware containers, if it gets hard I just microwave it for a few seconds. I found a batch I made a few months ago and it was still fine. Thank you for stopping by!
I accidentally grabbed my cornstarch instead of the baking soda. It still worked but I had to scrub really, really hard. I realized I got the cornstarch when I went back to make a second batch.
OMGoodness! This stuff really works! It was simple to make! I even used it on a crystal bowl and it did not scratch. I also used it on my stovetop and greasy stainless steel vent hood. It worked wonders! It reminded me of a magic eraser when I used it on my stove top and vent hood! My coconut oil was soft (not melted) when I mixed it with the baking soda. Just an FYI if needed.
Thank you for including this great idea!
