Hot Days, Cool Nights with EDWARDS® Pie
I have to start off by saying that I am a complete dessert snob. It is so bad that my Hubby refuses to let me order dessert when we go out to eat because he knows I will find something I do not like about it. I guess it is because I am just picky about my sweets, there is nothing wrong with that. But, I decided that I was going to try something new, something sweet and something perfect for summer. It has been ridiculously hot here in the south and to top it off, our A/C went out making the idea of cooking or baking pure torture.
I wanted something sweet, but not ice cream so I headed off to Walmart (at least it was nice and cool there) to see what I could find to satisfy my sweet tooth. I decided to give EDWARDS® Pie a chance. I had passed by them a million times but I never realized how many different varieties they had!
I figured I might as well go big or go home and grab a few different types.I opted for the Hershey’s Creme Pie and the New York Style cheesecake. What did I have to lose?
Since I have a ton of berries from the garden that need to be used, I grabbed some and served it up with cheesecake, and WOW, I really enjoyed it. It was thick and creamy just how I like it.
The Hershey’s Creme Pie was my favorite though, lots of chocolate and a chocolate crust… That poor pie didn’t last the night in our house. It was perfect because I was able to get something sweet and not have to turn on my oven to heat up the already hot kitchen. Plus, these pies are great to take to get togethers with friends.
When ever my Hubby has a work party I am volunteered to make cheesecake… Do you know how long it takes to make cheesecake?!?! I think next time I will be opting to bring EDWARDS® Pie New York Style Cheesecake instead. Plus right now there is a Save $1.00 on any ONE (1) EDWARDS® Whole Pie by taking advantage of the Walmart EDWARDS Ibotta digital rebate (while supplies last), so I can save time and money!
Have your tried Edwards Pies? What other flavor should I stock up on?
Yes, try the peanut butter. Thanks for sharing at Merry Monday.
