Mermaid Poop Soaps Project
It feels like it has been forever since I have written a post. It has been pretty busy around here lately. I opened up an Etsy shop, and it has kept me pretty busy these last few months. Add to that, that I started my second YouTube channel back up, and time has been limited. But, have no fear, I am back! And, I have a few fun projects coming up in the near future. Today, we are kicking off my return with these fun DIY Mermaid Poop Soaps!
This is such an easy project, and would be a perfect thing to do with kiddos over Spring Break, or whenever! For these DIY Mermaid Poop Soaps, you will need the following:
- Silicone Poop Mold
- Melt and Pour Soap Base
- Rubbing Alcohol in a Spray Bottle
- Soap Colorant in Blue (or any color you like)
- Fragrance Oil of Choice
Cut melt and pour soap into small, uniform, cubes and place into a microwave safe container.
Microwave in 20 second bursts, stirring well in between, until completely melted.
Once melted, add in fragrance oil and 1-2 drops of soap colorant.
Pour into the molds ¼ of a way full.
Spritz with rubbing alcohol to remove any bubbles; allow to set until a thick skin forms on the top of the soap.
Add 1-2 more drops of colorant to your soap and pour another thin layer of soap. If your soap has thickened, or hardened, microwave it again until melted.
Continue this process until you have completely filled each mold.
Allow soap to harden in mold for 1 hour before removing. Or, if you are impatient, you can always pop them into the fridge for 15 minutes to harden quicker!
I used a clear melt and pour soap bases to give it more of a water like look, but if all you have is white, it will work to. And, if you want to give these DIY Mermaid Poop Soaps a little extra, you can always add some glitter to the mix, just like we did for our Ombre Mermaid Soap.
